Become a locum on CuRisApp in 5 easy steps

The world of freelance medical professionals is moving beyond the conventional agency model and going digital. Be part of the CuRisApp revolution!

In order to become part of the CuRisApp family, there are several practical steps you need to take before applying to locum shifts directly. We’ve boiled them down to five steps to make life easier for you.

Step One: Upload mandatory documentation

Each locum on our platform is vetted by us so we need а few documents from you in order to approve your profile. You need to do this only once at the start of your locuming journey with CuRisApp and then only if any of your documents expire.

1. Passport / ID – upload a scanned copy*

2. Indemnity insurance – upload the certificate

3. Enhanced DBS check – upload the official document

*If you are not a UK resident/citizen, you would also need to upload a valid work permit/visa.

In addition to the absolute minimum of 3 documents mentioned above, you also need a valid professional registration number (for pharmacists: GPhC number), a CV, proof of address, a Smartcard and one or two references.

Step Two: Complete your profile

After providing the mandatory documentation, and while you wait for us to vet your locum profile, you should also upload any certifications and/or training certificates that you have, identify specific skills, as well as upload a profile picture. Remember, the more comprehensive your profile, the more shifts you will qualify for. Which brings us to…

Step Three: Find and apply for shifts

You’ve been vetted! Now it’s time to find work. You will only see jobs that qualify your distance requirements. Select the shift you want to do and hit the Apply button. You will be prompted to negotiate the proposed rate (more on that in Step Four) and to edit your information and CV. Make sure your CV is up to date! The pharmacy offering the shift you’ve applied for will immediately get a notification.

Keep in mind that if you’ve applied for a specific shift at a certain date and time, you will not be able to apply for a different shift at the same time while your application is open. In addition, if you cancel a shift you’ve been accepted for, you will no longer be able to apply for the same shift. However, you can always apply for a different day and time with the same pharmacy.

Step Four: Negotiate the hourly rate

When you apply for shifts, you are ALWAYS able to negotiate the proposed rate. If you want to negotiate the price on a job or shift then you will need to negotiate directly from the app. If you want to negotiate a higher price you will need to provide a justification for it. The pharmacy offering the shift can either accept your proposal or suggest a compromise rate, which you can either accept or reject. Once the rate and shift are confirmed, you will see the agreed rate and shift in the mobile app.

Step Five: Work and get paid

Before starting a shift, you will need to confirm your arrival in the app 10 minutes before the shift starts. After the end of the shift you will need to raise an invoice to be paid on time and in full. Don’t worry – this is fully automated in the mobile app and takes less than two minutes. Once the pharmacy has completed the payment, they will tick the box in the app and you should be receiving your money in no time.
